Mission

To increase access to maker education for all students.

The mission of this site is to provide teachers with the tools and guides to set up and use a maker space in their classroom. Resources include plans for building your own maker space table or considerations if using resources already on hand. Another critical resource on this website is the maker space lessons available for grades Kindergarten through Third. These lessons are meant to support teachers. In return, if you are willing to share your own lesson ideas, I will work with you to publish them on this site. You can start this process under Feedback and Sharing.

I hope this website and these resources will help teachers understand the versatility of a maker space in supporting students’ academic needs and social-emotional well-being. Students become leaders in their thinking, creating opportunities for problem-solving and communication with peers. Implementing these lessons and this space will create opportunities in the student’s day that lead to authentic learning. Learning from both their failures and successes.
